Jo Hansford launches ‘Ecaille’ - the latest AW 13 hair colour trend

Jo Hansford MBE, one of the world’s leading premium hair colour specialists, has unveiled the latest in hair colour fashions, hot off the New York and London Fashion Week catwalks. Ecaille, meaning tortoiseshell, is a softer move on from Ombre, which has been the colour style of choice for celebrities and the fashion forward crowd in recent seasons. Winter Blitz lights and ‘Colour Voila’ are alternative techniques for blondes or a quick fix.

Ecaille works beautifully on all hair colours and can be adapted to give the best match for your skin tone. For brunettes, the process marries two different depths of lights with chocolate shadows and for the warmer skin tones; Ecaille matt with ash tones gives the look a slightly cooler edge.

For those who were born to be blonde, winter blitz lights will add bright flashes of blonde around the face, illuminating your fading tan and brightening your skin tone in the duller winter months. This technique freshens up grown out summer blondes or highlighted hair by using cleverly placed flashes of vanilla or Icelandic blonde tones with the rest of your current colour, revealing an all round multi-tonal and elegant finish for winter.

Those who require a quick fix to warm and richen hair colour, Jo Hansford Salon has exclusively introduced ‘Colour Voila’ – a healthy, non permanent treatment to warm up washed out ends and add fabulous shine.

Jaclyn Smith, Head Colourist at the Jo Hansford Salon in the heart of Mayfair, who counts fashion forward celebs such as Erin O Connor, Zara Martin and Georgia Jagger in her client list says ‘Ecaille is a healthy and glossy update for Ombre fans or those who felt it was too stark for their style. Ecaille gives hair a soft, multi-tonal look without any harsh lines to compliment your natural tones.’ The look is already proving popular with A-list celebs such as Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Scarlett Johansson.
