Designer name: Bora Aksu

Origin: Originally from Turkey, Bora has been based in London for 15 years.

Career highlight: “There have been many: seven window displays at Selfridges; 4 times NEWGEN recipient; meeting with Queen.”

Design background: Bora set up his label upon graduation from his MA at Central Saint Martins.

Design signatures: “My signature style is based upon finding the balance point between contrasts. It’s romantic with a darker twist.”

How would you describe the Bora Aksu woman?
“She defines beauty in her own way. Tori Amos captures this for me.”

What is your brand philosophy?
“Creating demi-couture pieces that are timeless and unique.”

Trademark piece: “The cocktail dress.”

Three autumn/winter2012 inspirations: “The innocence of ‘Vivian Girls’ by Henry Darger; double-sided woven coverlets; governess dress codes.”

What does 2012 hold for your brand?
“We are looking forward to developing the tights and also introducing a small selection of bags. The new online shop will open fully and offer a wider selection of products.”

What is your favourite decade in fashion?
“I have always been drawn to the end of the 1920s. That period has always had a timeless appeal for me. The construction techniques of the earlier Edwardian period have also been a keen interest.”

Where do you go in London to seek artistic inspiration?
“London is such a wonderful and diverse place that you can go anywhere and still find inspiration. Recently I have discovered the charity shops in High Barnet and found some amazing pieces.”

BORA AKSU

Has prepared a brand new collection for the famous designer Bora Aksu Armaggan. Several times in London and London fashion weeks of the Year "couturier" Bora Aksu, winning the title, Armaggan prepared for the special collection, and consumed in ever-changing fashion trends, not passed down from generation to reflect the fashion sense.

ARMAGGAN'ın workshops, the Turkish Cultural Foundation (TCF) under the Natural Dye Research and Development and Application Center (Datum) produced in the control of special fabrics used in the collection,

timeless contemporary designs stand out cuts. Special cross-woven on hand looms in the collection formed by the body and narrow woven fabrics produced jackets, thick woven coats, custom-printed silk blouse and flowing dresses and sometimes a needle lace, draws attention to a belt, sometimes traditional, but contemporary lines.
